This session will highlight the fast evolving cell biology research in China. Institutions and laboratories for innovative cell biological research are growing nation-wide, in addition to the existing State-sponsored key laboratories for cell biology and rominent journals of cell biology research publishing in China. This session will provide an interactive forum to explore potential opportunities in international study, scientific collaboration and career development. The event is specifically designed for those, both Chinese and non-Chinese nationals, who plan to explore graduate and postdoc training, academic employment opportunities, establish collaborative efforts and research funds in China. Presentations in our session include work addressing how organelle communication, cytoskeletal dynamics, and host-microbe interactions regulate organoids plasticity.
Feature presentation:
1. New research enterprise, Xinhua Feng, Zhejiang University
2. Scientific publishing in primer journals, Lei Cheng & Yu Qin, Shanghai Institute for Biological Sciences
3. New Research Fund Initiatives: Quan Chen & Hong Zhang, Chinese Academy of Sciences
4. Moderator: Xuebiao Yao, University of Science & Technology of China
Outcome 1: Learn strategies for choosing the optimal employment opportunities in China and meet the HR decision makers.
Outcome 2: Gain a better understanding of research grant application and when and how to file for a successful application.
Outcome 3: Learn how to successfully submit and publish manuscripts in primer journals and meet the editors.
Outcome 4: Network with resourceful colleagues from a diverse set of disciplines for insightful updates.
